Dear God,

My book is finally finished. It’s been a long time coming since I am the well known Queen of the Dilly Dally( I’m telling You something You already know, aren’t I?) Anyway, the stories are actually letters to You about what goes on in the minds and hearts of those who reside in, visit or work in the nursing home environment. They are about hope, healing, friendship, joy, and dreams as well as sadness and dying with dignity. They are stories about life.
My hope is that when people read this book, they will realize that a nursing home just might be a wonderful place to visit a family member or neighbor, meet a new friend, share a hobby or even comfort a total stranger. It’s my wish to bring attention to the problem of loneliness in the nursing home environment.
Besides the letters, I’ve included some fabulous recipes from the nursing home staff as well as other nursing home tidbits. Not really gossip, just interesting stuff. And to top it off, my friend, Nicole, has done a super job illustrating the book. How come I can’t even draw a straight line? What’s up with that?
Thank You, God, for Your inspirational help with the writings. We’ll talk about Your commission in the by and by.

With Great Love,
Mary-Ellen Low
